PIANO LESSONS

Piano&MUSIC offers private piano instruction (one-on-one lessons) for pupils that would like to learn to play the piano for fun, and for pupils that would like to follow a syllabus or complete formal examinations.

LEARN TO PLAY PIANO FOR FUN OR TO DEVELOP A MUSICAL SKILL:

Being able to play a musical instrument is an excellent skill to develop through which you can enjoy making music for a lifetime. Piano&MUSIC offers piano lessons for the pupil who would like to learn to play piano to enjoy making music.

SYLLABUSES & EXAMINATIONS:

Should you wish to follow an official syllabus, the following syllabuses are offered, which includes training and preparation for formal examinations:

  • UNISA: Pregrade 1 to Grade 8
  • Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM): Initial Grade – Grade 8
  • Trinity Guildhall: Initial to Grade 8
  • Trinity Guildhall Rock & Pop: Initial to Grade 8

MUSIC THEORY LESSONS

Piano&MUSIC offers private tutoring in official music theory syllabuses. Music theory is a key element for musicians and forms the foundation of understanding music. It is the language in which musicians communicate and helps musicians to perform their music better. 

Piano&MUSIC offers music theory lessons as part of the piano lessons, should the pupil prefer. Alternatively, music theory lessons are presented to pupils who would like to understand music better, without having it form part of the piano lessons.

SYLLABUSES & EXAMINATIONS:

The following syllabuses are offered:

  • UNISA: Pregrade 1 to Grade 3
  • Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM): Grade 1 – Grade 3
  • Trinity Guildhall: Grade 1 to Grade 3

Should you wish to learn the basics of music theory without following a formal syllabus, this can be arranged, as well as private tutoring required before music theory examinations for a school subject.
